Nick Bromell has been appointed to a Director of Perks’ Audit Team reflecting the more than 14 years’ professional experience and insight he brings to the position.
In the Banking & Finance Team, Steve Martin steps into a newly created Client Service Director role, supporting the growing strategic importance of this area.
In Perks Private Wealth, Rebecca Jayne has been promoted to Associate Director. Since joining the firm, Rebecca has played a pivotal role in delivering tailored wealth management strategies and supporting clients to achieve their financial goals.
Within the Accounting & Business Services Team, Andrew Camens, Tracy Bonney, and Tyson Smith have each been promoted to Associate Director. Their promotions recognise their technical excellence, leadership capability and the trusted relationships they’ve built with clients across a broad range of industries.
Perks CEO James Black congratulated the newly appointed Leaders, noting their contributions to the firm’s continued growth and excellence in client service and advice.

Nick began his career at Perks in 2009 as an accountant in the Business Services division. He is a client-focused accounting professional with deep expertise in external audit, statutory account preparation, grant acquittals and trust account management.
Throughout his career, he has worked extensively with upper mid-market firms, corporate enterprises, and associations across both public and private sectors, supporting organisations with annual revenues of up to $250 million.
With over 20 years of experience in banking and finance, including senior roles at big 4 banks, Steve offers valuable insights from both sides of the lending process, ensuring clients receive strategic and practical financial guidance. His approach centres on building enduring relationships by delivering genuine value, helping businesses not only secure finance but also structure it strategically to support long-term growth and success.
Andrew began his Accounting career as a Graduate Accountant in Perks Business Services Team in 2016, and steadily climbed the ranks. He quickly gained a strong aptitude for implementing accounting software systems and leveraging technology to enhance operational efficiency. Andrew’s unique blend of practical business insight and technical expertise allows him to deliver tailored solutions that drive real value for his clients.
Tracy began her career as a Graduate Accountant at Perks in 2008 and now brings over 17 years of experience delivering expert financial and accounting services. She plays a key role in the firm’s pharmacy specialisation and supports clients across hospitality, trades, and investment. Her collaborative approach helps business owners uncover growth opportunities through a deep understanding of their operations and goals. She also contributes to the broader community by holding board positions as Treasurer.
With over 14 years’ experience in mid-tier accounting firms, Tyson provides integrated business and personal financial advice across sectors including retail, agribusiness, and health. He specialises in taxation, compliance, budgeting, and forecasting, aligning financial strategies with key business KPIs. Tyson also leads digital transformations through cloud-based accounting tools, helping clients streamline reporting, optimise cash flow, and make confident, data-driven decisions.
Since joining Perks in 2014, Rebecca has drawn on her experience to help clients achieve their financial goals with clarity and confidence. With 20 years of experience, Rebecca specialises in guiding clients through strategic financial planning and investment decisions and simplifies complex financial strategies into clear, actionable advice tailored to each client’s unique needs.
As an Aged Care Specialist accredited by the Financial Advice Association Australia (FAAA), Rebecca also provides expert guidance through the complexities of social security and aged care, offering compassionate support during what can be a challenging transition.
Perks, has expanded its leadership ranks with the promotion of seven Team Members who have been recognised for their significant contributions to the company and their clients.
Michael Boffa, Tyson Jeanes, Tim Haslam and James McGuffog, who were each appointed to Associate Director positions in 2022, will become Directors in Perks Accounting & Business Services Team. With more than 50 years’ combined experience with Perks, they are each highly-respected for their understanding and knowledge across all aspects of taxation, accounting and business advisory.
Sanja Hiziak and Scott Middleton will be promoted to Associate Director roles, all in Perks Accounting & Business Services Team. Sanja and Scott joined Perks in 2021 and 2017 respectively and have demonstrated strong leadership credentials through their work supporting a broad base of clients.
Matthew Fahey, who joined in 2018 as Business Development Manager of Perks’ wholly owned subsidiary AIT Specialists Pty Ltd, will take on a newly created role as Client Service Director. AIT Specialists Pty Ltd, focus solely on fuel and tax credit claims for clients and Matthew has been instrumental in the growth of the business.

Since joining Perks in 2009 through the CA Achiever Program, Michael has become a key figure in the firm’s Business Services division, providing holistic accounting and business advisory services to a wide range of businesses and their owners/stakeholders. His clients span a diverse range of industries such as healthcare, professional services, agriculture, property, construction, and not-for-profit organisations.
A firm believer in education, Michael empowers his clients to better understand their personal and business finances. He is committed to being an active participant in helping them discover success.
Since 2008, Tyson has built his experience working in mid-tier accounting and financial services firms across Adelaide, he is highly adept at providing a wide a range of strategic accounting and business advisory services to his clients.
While Tyson has a holistic accounting and advisory skillset, he is a key member of the firm’s specialist team working with clients in the medical and dental industries. He has gained significant experience in servicing the business and accounting needs of healthcare professionals, which has enabled him to develop an in-depth understanding of the unique pressures and challenges faced by those in the medical industry.
Over the course of Tim’s career in the accounting profession since 2006, Tim has forged a reputation as a trusted adviser and counsel to privately owned businesses, business owners and their families.
Tim advises and supports his clients with tax compliance and planning, complex tax advice including business structuring and asset protection, real-time management reporting, budgeting, cashflow forecasting and process/systems improvement. He also understands how to harness technology and has helped numerous clients with their digital transformation by implementing customised cloud accounting solutions, providing higher quality and more timely business insights.
After starting his career in practice as a Graduate Accountant, James joined Perks in 2008 and has demonstrated his natural leadership ability in various cross-functional teams and projects.
With over 16 years’ experience in corporate finance and accounting advisory, James is a client-centric accounting professional whose specialisation areas includes tax planning, asset protection, management information reporting, process development, P&L improvement and retirement and succession planning. James’ expertise is sought after by business owners to improve their profitability and achieve margin expansion through providing structured tax solutions and streamlining their existing financial reporting processes.
Sanja Hiziak joined Perks in 2021 and brings over 17 years of experience in accounting and advisory services both in Adelaide and Sydney. She supports a diverse range of clients across industries including allied health, professional services, not-for-profit organisations, high net worth individuals and family groups.
Sanja prides herself on her strong work ethic and can-do attitude, providing comprehensive support to her clients through all stages of their business journey. Her expertise includes setting up business structures with long-term succession plans, budgeting and forecasting for expansions, KPI reporting, and conducting regular meetings to discuss results.
Scott Middleton joined Perks in 2017 and has over a decade of experience working in mid-tier accounting firms in Adelaide. Scott brings extensive expertise in a variety of accounting and advisory services, including financial reporting, taxation planning, GST compliance, fringe benefits tax compliance, forecasting and budgeting, and management reporting.
Scott has a diverse client base across multiple industries, such as real estate, production, wine, cosmetics, and hospitality. He understands the unique challenges faced by family-owned businesses and small to medium enterprises, and he is dedicated to helping these businesses achieve their personal and professional goals.
Matthew Fahey joined AIT Specialists Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Perks, in 2018 and has played a key role in the company’s growth, focusing exclusively on fuel tax. He has assisted a diverse range of clients across Australia, including Local Government entities, and SME’s.
His exceptional communication and relationship-building skills have earned the trust of clients, partners, and stakeholders alike. Matthew’s deep understanding of the industrial and commercial sectors, combined with his experience in sales and operations management, allows him to effectively address the unique needs and challenges of each client.
Adelaide accounting and wealth advisory firm, Perks has expanded its leadership team with the appointment of a new Director and two Associate Directors.
Sam Hicks is the company’s newest Director, while Lee Jurga and Nicholas Bromell will be promoted to Associate Director roles.
Sam, who joined with Perks in 2015 and was appointed to Associate Director in 2021, has more than 20 years’ accounting experience across a breadth of industries and business structures.
With over 16 years’ specialist tax experience, Lee has been an integral part of Perks tax team since joining the firm in 2019. Nicholas has proven to be an important senior member of the Perks Audit division, where he applies over 14 years’ experience in public practice accounting and audit.
Perks CEO James Black said the trio’s promotion is a testament to their commitment to the firm and its clients.

Perks has 27 Directors, 7 Associate Directors, and a total of 220 Team Members, servicing thousands of clients made-up predominantly of private businesses and their owners.
With more 20 years’ experience in professional accounting practice, Sam is highly adept at delivering client-first accounting, tax and business services to a wide range of clients. Sam has extensive experience across a breadth of industries and business structures.
Prior to joining Perks in 2015, he worked as a Financial Controller at established Adelaide engineering firms Sage Automation and Ottoway Engineering. Sam holds a Bachelor of Economics, a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance and Investment, and is an Authorised Representative, Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC), and a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ).
Lee is a highly specialised tax professional and valued member of Perks’ Tax Advisory Team.
He provides expert tax advice to small and medium enterprises and high net worth individuals. He has acquired substantial experience through his varied employment at a prominent Big 4 accounting firm, one of Australia’s largest privately owned corporate law firms, the State Revenue Office, and now Perks.
Nicholas is a client-orientated audit professional with rich expertise in external audit, statutory account preparation, grant acquittals and trust accounts.
Throughout his career, Nicholas has primarily worked with upper mid-market firms, corporate enterprises and associations across both public and private sectors.
He started with Perks in 2009 as an Accountant within the Business Services division. He then worked in progressively senior capacities with several other accounting and financial services firms before returning to Perks in 2021 as a Senior Manager in Perks Audit division.
