Perks welcomes Shamus Rynne as Director of Perks Finance

11 Sep 2026

As businesses navigate growth, investment and changing economic conditions, access to the right finance solutions can play a critical role in achieving long-term success.

While securing funding is often an important step, finance decisions rarely exist in isolation. They are increasingly intertwined with broader business objectives, tax considerations, succession planning and strategic decision-making.

To further strengthen our finance brokerage capability and give client’s greater access to commercial banking expertise, we are pleased to welcome Shamus Rynne as Director, Perks Finance.

Shamus brings more than 25 years’ experience across commercial banking, having held senior roles with some of Australia’s leading financial institutions. His background spans relationship management, commercial lending, complex credit structuring, client acquisition and business development, supporting businesses from SMEs through to emerging corporates.

Perks CEO James Black said Mr Rynne has a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing business owners and built a strong reputation for developing long-standing client relationships.

“Perks Finance is an important part of our integrated service offering and we see significant opportunities for continued growth in this area,”  Mr Black said.

“Shamus’ appointment reflects our ongoing investment in Perks Finance and will help us continue building on the strong reputation and capability of the business as part of the broader Perks Group.”

Shamus has worked closely with business owners during key moments of growth, investment and transition, helping clients navigate complex financing decisions while balancing broader commercial objectives.

For Shamus, the opportunity to join Perks was driven by the ability to work within a multidisciplinary advisory environment.

“Throughout my career, I’ve worked closely with business owners at key moments of growth, investment and transition. What’s become clear is that finance works best when it’s connected to broader business, tax and strategic considerations,” he said.

“The opportunity to join Perks stood out because of its integrated advisory model and genuine focus on long-term client outcomes.”

As businesses continue to face a more complex commercial environment, the ability to bring together strategic finance brokerage, accounting, tax and wealth advice becomes increasingly valuable.
