Meet Nick

Nick is a Director of Perks Audit with more than 16 years’ experience advising private, public and not-for-profit organisations across a broad spectrum of industry sectors. He partners closely with clients to bring clarity to complex audit and reporting requirements, helping them to strengthen governance and confidently meet their compliance obligations.

Nick is valued for his grounded, pragmatic approach and his ability to explain Australian Accounting Standards in a way that enables organisations to apply them independently and effectively.

Specialisation

Nick specialises in audits of complex and regulated organisations, with a particular focus on assessing internal controls, identifying deficiencies and delivering practical audit outcomes.

Areas of Expertise

  • Audit and assurance for large private companies, not‑for‑profits organisations and Aboriginal Corporations
  • Complex audits and technical accounting, with deep expertise in Australian Accounting Standards and judgement‑heavy reporting areas
  • Sustainability and climate‑related reporting under AASB S2, including carbon accounting, and consideration of strategy, risk management and governance

Beyond the numbers

Nick joined Perks initially as a Graduate Chartered Accountant in 2009, before expanding his experience by travelling abroad and has taken on senior audit and accounting roles in Melbourne the U.S., as well as at another leading Adelaide based audit firm. This global experience bringing both fresh perspectives and deep insights into audit best practice. He has also contributed to strong governance at a grassroots level, including serving as Treasurer of the Prospect District Cricket Club from 2017 to 2021.
