Beyond the numbers

Andrew began his career in hospitality before transitioning into accounting, an experience that continues to shape how he works with clients. Having managed businesses himself, he brings empathy and commercial awareness to every engagement.

Beyond his professional work, Andrew has held governance roles within community organisations, including senior committee positions with responsibility for financial oversight and leadership. This involvement has provided practical insight into financial stewardship, governance, compliance and stakeholder reporting, and has shaped his understanding of the responsibilities faced by boards and management.

Andrew is also actively involved in the Helpmann Academy’s Creative Innovator Program, initially contributing as a mentor to emerging creative entrepreneurs. He now leads Perks’ involvement in the program, coordinating the firm’s delivery of a Business Essentials Workshop for participants. Over successive years, Andrew has also mentored the program’s seed‑funding recipients, supporting them to scale and grow their business ventures.
