Jason Russo heads up the Investment and Research team at Perks Private Wealth. With more than 20 years’ experience in multi-asset class portfolio management across private business, public corporations and government organisations, he is highly adept at leading and advising investment strategies at a managerial, technical and analytical level.
As a principal member of the Perks Investment Committee (IC), Jason drives the IC activity and investment strategy for Perks Private Wealth, while informing client-side decision making. Underpin by his vast experience, Jason is the lead resource for all investment queries, research, analysis and education. Jason is also responsible for managing several key technical functions in the business, including reporting on market sector and asset class performance and providing analysis of fund manager performance across all asset classes.
Jason was recently appointed a non-executive Director on the Cancer Council SA Board and is the Chairman of the Cancer Council Investment Committee.
Joining Perks in August 2018, Jason brings more than 20 years’ experience from across the globe, including London, Sydney and Adelaide. Some of his previous experience includes roles with global investment managers JP Morgan, First State Investments, Nomura Asset Management, Commonwealth Bank. More recently he was a senior Analyst at Funds SA (the investment manager of State government) and prior to this role, Acting Chief Investment Officer at the Motor Accident Commission (MAC), where he was responsible for managing the $3.5 billion Compulsory Third-Party insurance investment fund and led the MAC to a record operating profit of more than $500 million in 2013-14.
