Uganda Project 2010 - Playing our part.
In Uganda, there are nearly two million children who have been orphaned because of AIDS, war and disease.
Last year the Kain C+C Foundation 2009 Uganda Project raised in excess of $60,000 from generous friends, family and clients.
The efforts of Kain C+C inspired a team of 9 Adelaide business people, including our own Pat Hodby, to travel to Africa to help relieve the plight of these children. The group’s efforts were focussed on;
- Building a house for eight orphans in a small village near Kampala (Uganda’s capital)
- Donating money to a charity for Ugandan orphans
- Working in an orphanage in Kampala and donating items (such as clothes, books and toys) needed by children in that orphanage.
To continue the work started by Pat and the rest of the team last year Kain C+C have initiated another trip in 2010 (leaving in August).
Once again, Perks is has given one lucky staff member the chance of a lifetime by sending them along with the Kain C+C team again to continue their efforts in Uganda.
Congratulations to Neil Oakes who has been awarded the opportunity to attend the trip to Uganda to help with the orphanage project.
Help him raise funds by joining in our Perks 2010 Charity Ride
